Reducing the Risks of Forklift Collisions

New Pedestrian Walkways in the factory will help minimise the risk of injury to pedestrians.

Each year there are about 8000 reportable forklift accidents, and over two thirds of those hospitalised are pedestrians. We have an enviable reputation when it comes to Health and Safety, and working in close partnership with the HSE, we were happy to take on board their recommendations and create clearly marked pedestrian walkways throughout the factory that will segregate pedestrians from forklifts and other traffic.

The walkways painted in red certainly stand out, as do the black and white ‘zebra crossings’, which have been placed in areas with maximum visibility for both pedestrians and forklift truck operators.

We look forward to many years of incident free forklift trucking!
