Quieter Take-Off With a Rolls-Royce Engine

Ash and Lacy have recently supplied the acoustic linings for Trent XWB-84 engines on the Airbus 350 to help absorb noise from the engines fan making it one of the quietest jetliners ever.

Manufactured by British engine-maker Rolls Royce, the Trent XWB is a series of turbofan engines developed from the Trent 1000. The XWB-84 is the latest engine of the Trent family, and is used exclusively for the Airbus A350 XWB. The first flight of the Trent XWB powering the Airbus A350 XWB took place in June 2013.

Acoustic liners in the engine housing play an important role in reducing turbo-machinery noise before it leaves the engine, converting acoustic energy in to very small amounts of heat. Ash & Lacy liners have been very effective in reducing fan noise at aircraft departure.

Together with the responsible manufacturers we work with, Ash & Lacy are committed to minimising the effect on the environment and providing a recyclable product wherever possible.

Ash & Lacy are proud to be an approved supplier to Rolls Royce Aerospace.
